Fighting Game News - 07/15/2010

Let’s keep this short, sweet, and to the point. What’s new in the realm of fighting video games?
Deadliest Warrior on PSN and Xbox Live is better than expected. No, it won’t be nearly as robust as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, but it’s strangely satisfying and deep in its approach. The fast fights are reminiscent of Bushido Blade and you get all kinds of crazy limb damage. And it’s only ten bucks.
The iPhone version of Street Fighter IV has two more characters in Cammy and Zangief. I can’t imagine doing double full circles to do some of Zangief’s crazy moves on a touchscreen, but at least the Red Cyclone is there.
King of Fighters XIII will be making its way toward our awaiting arcade fighting sticks eventually. In the meantime, we can prepare for the boss characters that’ll stand between us and triumphant victory. All in all, KOF XIII looks vastly better than KOF XII… which was kind of broken.
Oh and apparently Justin Wong got knocked out of a Super Street Fighter IV tournament by some random Taiwanese guy playing as Adon. Everyone can lose (and win).
