Fighting News Roundup- - 12/14/08

In the world of Tekken 6, shown above, we learn that…
- We have lots of new screenshots to gawk at. This fighting game is looking prettier by the day.
- Both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 will be getting the game in Fall 2009. That’s still a full year away, assuming there are no more delays.
- There’s an action-packed trailer to whet our appetites between now and then.
Hopping on over to SNK and the King of Fighters franchise, we discover:
- A slew of new characters and screenshots for King of Fighters XII (arcade).
- That King of Fighters 2002 is being resurrected on the PS2 (yes PS2) in form of King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match. This is probably Japan-only
While I’m still pretty busy playing Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on my Xbox 360, I can’t wait until Street Fighter IV hits home consoles next year. In the meantime, you can check out some more high resolution screenshots featuring Fei Long, Sakura, and the rest of the Street Fighting crew.
Last but not least, Ed Boon of the nearly-bankrupt Midway recently said in an interview that he would love to put together the dream Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat crossover game. We’ve seen SF vs. Marvel and MK vs. DC, but it would be every fanboy’s wet dream if a SF vs. MK game were to ever happen. I know I’d mess myself.
