MK vs. DC Trailer Explains Connection
Capcom never really explained why the guys from the Street Fighter universe found themselves beating up on the X-Men in Street Fighter vs. X-Men, but Midway is taking a more comprehensive approach with Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.
If you’ve been wondering how those two worlds have managed to collide in the upcoming fighting game wonder no longer. Here is an official trailer that explains the connection and how they must fight to keep their respective worlds intact.

On a side note, you may also want to check out the Wikipedia entry, because it explains the pairing of the Mortal Kombat characters with their DC Universe counterparts. For example, Raiden is pitted against The Flash, Shang Tsung against The Joker, and Kano with Catwoman. Despite much of the artwork showing Scorpion against Batman, their respective pairings are actually Green Lantern and Baraka, respectively.
