Street Fighter X Tekken

Yes. The day has arrived. Street Fighter X Tekken is now available in stores for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. (The Windows version is following in May.) And here’s a video to show you just what is possible from easily one of the best combo guys on the planet today.

The one and only Desk, the same guy that showed us some Evil Ryu and Oni madness in SSFIV:AE 2012, has now put together a crazy combo video with team tagging in Street Fighter X Tekken. Many of these combos use meter, of course, but they can take off up to half of a lifebar. Nutso.

He also has a video with single combos too, which is just as if not even more impressive.

What are you waiting for? Go grab your copy of Street Fighter X Tekken and get cracking on learning these combos!

Time Over a Big Issue in Street Fighter X Tekken?

Street Fighter X Tekken

Uh oh. With Street Fighter X Tekken set to hit store shelves in just a couple of short days, it looks like a rather unexpected problem is starting to pop up in tournament play.

No, it’s not about the gem system or how Tekken players can deal with Street Fighter projectiles. Instead, it seems that many matches are ending in “time outs” rather than more conventional KOs. This became clearly evident in the World Game Cup 2012 grand finals in Cannes where eLive.RF took on Fuudo. Many, many rounds ran out of time.

The ramifications are tremendous. First, we’re going to see very few super arts, cross arts, and cross assaults since they take way too long. We also won’t see Pandora all that much either. That totally changes how people play when they pay that much attention to the clock. The strategy is all out of whack.

Maybe competitive play needs to stick to scramble mode until Capcom re-balances things? ;)

Final Boss Battle of Street Fighter X Tekken (Plus Ending Animation)

Even though there is going to be much more of a focus on the versus mode (and even scramble mode), the one-player arcade mode is still going to be a pretty big deal in Street Fighter X Tekken. And now we know who is going to be the last boss in the “final encounter” of the game.

If you’re not one for spoilers, it’s probably a good idea to look away now.

Street Fighter X Tekken

Okay, in the video below, we can quite plainly see that Ogre is the final boss. However, it’s also clear that the player team consists of two Street Fighter characters. Ogre might be the final boss regardless, but it’d be fun if someone like Akuma is the last boss if you have a Tekken team. Things might get a little more muddled if you have a mixed team.

There are three things that we can learn about Final Battle Ogre through the video below. One, he won’t have a partner, acting as a solo combatant for the last fight. Two, he has a monster-sized health bar, so your attacks will look like they’re laying on much less damage than normal. Three, his “grayed” health is constantly regenerating, as if he were the secondary character. Is that a fair fight? That’s up to you.

In any case, Street Fighter X Tekken crosses the line on March 6. Then, you’ll be able to battle Ogre on your own and claim Pandora as your own… or will you? Spoiler #2 alert: the final ending is embedded in the video below too.
