Street Fighter X Tekken
This was originally rumored as Capcom vs. Namco, but it was officially unveiled at Comic-Con as Street Fighter X Tekken (pronounced Street Fighter CROSS Tekken). It pits Street Fighter’s world warriors against the epic combatants from the Tekken universe using the Street Fighter IV gameplay engine.
It’ll be released on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as expected. Ryu and Chun-Li are confirmed for the Street Fighter side, whereas Kazuya and Nina are confirmed for the Tekken team. I wouldn’t hold my breath, though, since the game isn’t due for two years. That’s a long time to wait! At the same time, Namco is developing Tekken X Street Fighter using the Tekken 6 gameplay engine. Two crossover games, completely different control schemes. Crazy.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Also at Comic-Con, we were treated to some new characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. First, there are four new entrants with Dr. Doom, Super Skrull, Chun-Li and Trish, as well as two more in the form of Thor and Okami’s Amaterasu. Interesting that we get our first non-humanoid playable character and… it’s a dog.
Super Street Fighter IV Arcade
I’m much more inclined to play online at home, but the arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV could have some more characters compared to the console version. Who do you think makes the cut?
