AE2012 Online Matches with Wolfkrone and MashDatDP

So, after seeing how I fared against Brolylegs and his Chun-Li, I went back to Xbox Live for some more Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2012 action. The hope was that my AE2012 skills are continuing to improve, but I’ll let you be the judge after watching the two videos below.

First, my Blanka takes on the legendary Wolfkrone and his epic C. Viper. You can probably guess how that goes.

Then, here’s my Oni attempting to take down the Dictator (Bison) as controlled by MashDatDP. You can probably guess what I was doing in that match too. Mash harder!

SSF4AE2012 Xbox Live Ranked Matches with Oni, Dhalsim, Rose and Blanka

I don’t claim to be particularly good at this game, but oh boy do I love playing me some Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition version 2012. Capcom really needs to learn how to shorten their game titles. Even the acronym — SSF4AE2012 — is way too long to be an acronym.

In the first Xbox Live ranked match video, I take my demonic Oni to face off against an online Dhalsim. And then, in the second video, I switch to my main (Blanka) for a two-match session with a 7000BP Rose. I have since leveled up to B-rank with my Blanka (Yay!), so I’ll probably be posting up a few more videos of those matches in due time.

A Great Video Guide to Playing Oni in AE2012

A Great Guide to Playing Oni in AE2012

Like Akuma, Oni has low health but very big damage. You may have seen some videos of crazy Oni combos and you’ve wished you could bring your evil powers to that level. But you’ve got to start at the fundamentals. You’ve got to start with the basics.

A great guide–dubbed The Book of Oni–has been posted on YouTube that walks you through everything you need to know to get started with Oni. You get familiar with his normals, his main weaknesses (and what to do to overcome them), his anti-airs, his hit confirms and target combos, the “loop” combo, how to best use the air dashes, and how to capitalize with supers and ultras, including the mid-air Raging Demon. I’ve been toying around with Oni and, while I’m far from good, he’s a heck of a lot of fun.

Perhaps you’ll be able to kara Raging Demon for some added confusion in your game.
