Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Version 2013 Sneak Preview!

As you may have already heard, ComboFiend and the rest of the team at Capcom are now collecting suggestions from the fighting game community for what changes they want to see in the newest version of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. We’re not really sure if it’s going to be Version 2013 or Version 2014, but we know that they are working on it. And we’re already getting a sneak peek via the video embedded below.

It’s possible that some new characters could be introduced — Capcom did have that poll for our “favorite” characters a little while back and Karin seems to be a very popular choice, particularly in Japan — but we’re definitely going to see some rebalancing. Some characters will get nerfed and others will get buffed. Many people have complained that Cammy is too OP and she needs some changes to balance her out. And that’s what this video is showing.

Her backdash is too good, her EX cannon strike is too good, her quick spin knuckle had not enough risk… the list goes on. Enjoy the video.

Denjin Sakura Embraces Satsui no Hadou (Video)

You have Ryu and then you have Evil Ryu. You have Ken and then you have Violent Ken. You have Akuma and then you have Oni. What about the little schoolgirl? It looks like Sakura is getting some pretty big buffs with the SSFIV:AE2013 update. 😉

In all seriousness, this is just a fun mod that someone decided to pit against Daigobot AI v1.0.

This mod changes Sakura’s moveset, voice, special effects, and ultras and adds custom animations and a new costume to create a completely new character. Sakura has gained complete mastery of the Satsui no Hado and all forms of Ansatsuken Karate. Combining the best abilities of all masters of this school of martial arts throughout history, Sakura can use unique moves from Ryu, Ken, Gouken, and all variations of Akuma (Gouki) at her disposal to dominate any enemies in her way.

Epic. Imagine comboing Gouken’s rising hurricane into a mid-air hurricane kick into a triple Oni Aerial Purifier. Yeah. Exactly.

A Great Video Guide to Playing Oni in AE2012

A Great Guide to Playing Oni in AE2012

Like Akuma, Oni has low health but very big damage. You may have seen some videos of crazy Oni combos and you’ve wished you could bring your evil powers to that level. But you’ve got to start at the fundamentals. You’ve got to start with the basics.

A great guide–dubbed The Book of Oni–has been posted on YouTube that walks you through everything you need to know to get started with Oni. You get familiar with his normals, his main weaknesses (and what to do to overcome them), his anti-airs, his hit confirms and target combos, the “loop” combo, how to best use the air dashes, and how to capitalize with supers and ultras, including the mid-air Raging Demon. I’ve been toying around with Oni and, while I’m far from good, he’s a heck of a lot of fun.

Perhaps you’ll be able to kara Raging Demon for some added confusion in your game.
