Super Smash Bros. Brawl – Intro Video
This is the opening cinematic for the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros Brawl. Normally, a leaked video like this wouldn’t be all that exciting, but it does seem to reveal a character or two that we didn’t know about before. Or at least a character or two that have yet to be confirmed by Nintendo. How does this compare to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl final character selection screen that was leaked a short while back?
Super Smash Bros. Brawl – Final Character List

What you see here is a rumored screenshot from the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii. If this leaked screenshot is to be believed, we will be treated to a total of 44 selectable characters for SSBB, including favorites like Sonic the Hedgehog. Unfortunately, the shot makes no mention of Mega Man, unless he appears as an Assist Trophy like Little Mac. Of course, the legitimacy of this shot is being heavily questioned by the gaming community and we can neither confirm nor deny whether it’s for real.
Up until now, only twenty-five selectable characters have been confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but this Super Smash Bros Brawl character list is comprised of 44 unique personalities, each of which bring their own special moves and cool looks. Let me run through each of the selectable characters, as organized by row (left to right).
Row 1: Bowser Jr., Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Zelda, Link, Midna, Ganondorf, Young Link.
Row 2: King K. Kool (Donkey Kong Country), Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Ridley (Metroid), Samus, Fusion Samus, Pokemon Trainer, Pikachu, Lucario (Pokemon), Jigglypuff, Mewtwo.
Row 3:: Star Wolf (Wolf O’Donnell from Star Fox), Fox McCloud, Krystal (Star Fox), Metaknight, Kirby, King Dedede, Wario, Ashley (WarioWare), Ike, Micaiah (Fire Emblem), Marth.
Row 4:: Sonic the Hedgehog, Mr. Game and Watch, Pit, Ice Climbers, Captain Falcon, Black Bull (F-Zero), Ness, Lucas, Masked Man (Earthbound/Mother), Pikmin & Olimar, Solid Snake.
Strangely, I don’t see Zero Suit Samus or Sheik on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl character selection screen, but both could simply be alternate costumes from Samus and Zelda, respectively.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii is just around the corner, so what better way to celebrate that with some real gameplay footage featuring two of the most iconic video game mascots of all time? The clip starts out with an epic battle between Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario the Plumber, but it goes on to feature a whole bunch of the new characters showcased in this latest fighting game.
