Top 10 Fighters: Street Fighter II Isn’t Number One

A similar top 10 list was recently posted at FutureLooks, but that doesn’t mean that us fighting game fans can’t enjoy yet another take on the top 10 fighters of all-time. Stuttering Craig and Handsome Tom of ScrewAttack take their video-making antics to the genre of fighting games, describing what they believe to be the greatest.

Most of the list is pretty conventional, attacking the usual suspects like Mortal Kombat and Tekken, but you just may be surprised by the game that takes the number one spot. Here’s a teaser: it ain’t Street Fighter II. Heck, it’s not even one of the many Street Fighter 2 variants. No Championship Edition or Hyper Fighting. Blasphemy? Perhaps, but you should still check out the video above.

It’s a shame that they didn’t include any more obscure games like Primal Rage and Time Killers. Everyone already knows that Virtua Fighter 5 is awesome (especially now that it’s online with the Xbox 360).

Godzilla Unleashed on the Wii

How’s this for the cheesiest commercial ever? From what I can gather, Godzilla Unleashed is basically a button-mashing bonanza involving some of your favorite Godzilla characters. It’ll be available for a variety of systems, but the Wii rendition looks to be the most physically involving. Flail your arms around like an idiot and pretend to breathe fire… right…. that sounds like a good idea. I’ll pass, thanks.

For a better sense of how the game plays, check out this official gameplay trailer. Yup, still looks lame. Anyone remember Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee for the GameCube? Yeah, getting Unleashed is just as bad.

Video: Soul Calibur Legends

I know. Soul Calibur Legends technically isn’t a fighting game, but neither is staring at Cassandra’s boobs. Namco Bandai is expanding the Soul Calibur series beyond the usual one-on-one fighting game genre with Soul Calibur Legends, destined for the Nintendo Wii.

Strangely, the trailer above lacks sound, but the one below will satisfy your aural needs.
