X-Men: Children of the Atom

ScrewAttack takes a look at this blast from the past, and it’s got to be one of the coolest blasts from the most awesome past ever. The 1990s were a fantastic era for fighting games and it got ridiculously awesome when X-Men: Children of the Atom got released in arcades. We were already stunned by Capcom and Street Fighter II, but when they took the same fundamental engine and applied it to the X-Men comic book universe, we all orgasmed in unison. X-Men: Children of the Atom was fast-paced, featured crazy specials, and even more hardcore super moves. The super jumps were pretty sweet too.

Remember, this was the game that paved way to titles like X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel vs. Capcom. Pay homage, my fellow fighting game fans. Pay homage, bow down, and be in awe.
